Strategic Resilience Group (SRG) seeks Category Management (CM) professionals to support the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Gov-wide Acquisition Services Division. Members of our team will assist with the development and execution of program strategies that support and advance the maturity and adoption of category management (CM) government-wide. SRG will employ a collaborative and iterative methodology for developing deliverables and problem-solving to support our customers’ goal of achieving a consistent and comprehensive government-wide CM strategy. CM is the organizing principle the federal government is using to drive smarter, more efficient buying practices, and enables the government to eliminate redundancies, increase efficiency, and deliver more value from the government’s acquisition programs.
Position Overview
We are hiring a Senior Data Scientist to provide expert analytical support for government-wide procurement and acquisition strategies. This role will focus on data governance, analytics, and dashboard development to support Category Management (CM) initiatives at GSA and OMB. The Senior Data SME shall be the senior expert and data analyst and will possess extensive knowledge and experience developing and applying data analytic methodologies and principles. The SME will lead the application of analytic techniques and help define project objectives and strategic direction. The SME is responsible for providing leadership and vision to client and project teams around the methodology and resolving complex problems, which require an in-depth knowledge of analytic methodologies and principles.
Salary: $130,000 – $156,000

· The Senior Data SME will be responsible for overseeing the category Management Program Management Office contractor data support team.
· The SME will serve as an advisor to GSA and OMB executives on matters related to spend data.
· Responsible for the development of accurate and high-quality dashboards that are published on USASpend.gov.
· Oversee data extraction, transformation, and visualization efforts for spend analysis and procurement analytics.
· Develop and maintain predictive models to support BIC initiatives and cost avoidance.
· Create interactive dashboards for stakeholders using Tableau, R, Python, and SQL.
· Provide ETL process improvements and optimize data pipelines.
· Collaborate with federal procurement leaders to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
· BA/BS degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience working with government-wide data systems to extract, cleanse, and analyze government spend data, specifically as it relates to category management.
· 5+ years of experience in federal data analytics, data science, or business intelligence.
· Expertise in SQL, mySQL, Oracle, Python, R, Tableau, PySpark, and PostgresSQL.
· Experience analyzing government-wide procurement and acquisition data.
· Strong knowledge of cloud-based IT solutions, infrastructure support, and security auditing.
· Experienced in cloud-based IT projects, oversight of infrastructure, application support, risk management, and security auditing.
· A minimum of 5 years of experience working with GSA and OMB category management executives.
· Experience analyzing government-wide spend data and developing associated dashboards or executive briefings to inform decision-making related to government-wide category management.
