Born and raised just south of Pittsburgh, PA, Rich's early life in this industrious community laid the foundation for his remarkable career. His academic journey began at Penn State, where he graduated with a BA in Foreign Service and International Relations in 1988, marking the start of a path characterized by leadership and strategic thinking.
Rich's commitment to service was exemplified when he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 1988. During his 21-year tenure, he led organizations in various capacities, contributing significantly to aviation command and control, intelligence operations, and technology transition. His experiences across diverse global operations honed his strategic and leadership skills, integral to his future endeavors.
After retiring from active duty in 2009, Rich transitioned into a new arena of expertise with AMERICAN SYSTEMS. As a program manager and C4ISR Subject Matter Expert, he collaborated closely with notable defense and research entities focused on transitioning science and technology development projects in useable operational tools, enhancing his skills in technology transition and strategic planning.
2016 marked a pivotal year with the founding of Strategic Resilience Group LLC. Along with three partners, Rich embarked on a mission to integrate resilience into organizational change. After leading a large change management and technology integration effort with Fortune 75 company, Rich assumed duties as the Chief Digital Officer in December 2017. He has been instrumental in managing various strategic planning, change management, technology integration and data analytics projects, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the forefront.
